Dear Sir:

In Reference (1), Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) stated our intent to pursue Improved Technical Specifications (ITS) for Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3. The version of the ITS applicable to PBAPS was proposed by the Boiling Water Reactors Owners' Group (BWROG) and is currently under NRC review. We indicated our plan to submit, by March 31, 1991, an amendment application requesting a conversion from the existing custom Technical Specifications to the ITS. This expected submittal date was contingent upon the NRC issuing a Safety Evaluation Report (SER) on the BWROG Licensing Topical Report in June 1990 and the approved version of ITS not deviating significantly from the BWROG proposed ITS.

The purpose of this letter is to reaffirm our intent to pursue ITS, and to establish a revised expected submittal date for the amendment application. The revised date is 12 months after NRC issuance af an SER. As before, this date is contingent upol the approved version of ITS not deviating significantly from the BWROG proposed ITS, f.oQ J.hS438$$$ ids $ff;7 1 i16 P
