Unit I operated at approximately 492 MWe net during the period with one scheduled shutdown; On July 3, evidence of a leak in the containment was discovered.

Tho' unit was shut down on July 20 for repair of the leak. During the leak check following the repair, a new leak was discovered approximately three to foi.r inches from the repaired area. After it was repaired, again-during the leak check following this repair, another leak was discovered _ This third leak'was repaired and the O

equipment passed the leak check. The unit was phased back to the grid on July 29,1990.

During the shutdown, the weld on the 'B' steam generator drain valve was also repaired.

. The leaks on the control rod drive mechanism and the steam generator drain valve are being documented in.

Licensee Event Report Nos.90-007 and 90-008.

Other safety-related maintenance included eddy current testing and repair of leaking flanges of the spent fuel pit
