Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

This fascimile confirms the conversation between Art Johnson, of your office and Robert Poulk, Regulatory Compliance Specialist, at 0920 on September 6, 1980 concerning an immediately reportable event per IE Bulletin 80-17 at the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant.

Normal surveillance revealed the Unit No.1 HPCI System steam supply inlet drain valves were leaking past their seats to the Reactor Building equip-ment drain tank.

The HPCI System is under clearance for repair o these valves which is ex-pected to take several days.
