Fire Protection Technical Specification Changes Cooper Nuclear Station NRC Docket No. 50-298, DPR-46

Dear Mr. Ippolito:

Per the Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report (SER) for Cooper Nuclear Station issued May 23, 1979, Nebraska Public Power District requests that the following Technical Specifications be modified to reflect facility modifications:

1. Table 3.18, Page 216k four additional fire hose stations have been added in the reactor building per item 3.30 of the CNS Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report.

2. Table 3.14, Page 216j Smoke detectors will be added to the Station Battery Room and the Diesel Generator Rooms per items 3.9.1 and 3.17 of the CNS Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report.

3. Specification 3.16/4.16, Pages 216e and 216f The Technical Specifications in sectioz s 3.16 and 4.16 " Spray and/or Sprinkler System" are also applicable to the automatic suppression systems which will be added in the Cable Expansion Room and Reactor Building per items 3.8 and 3.12 of the CNS Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report.

The proposed changes are as indicated on the attached revised Technical Specification pages.
