OF MAY 25, 2016, PUBLIC MEETING WITH NEXTERA ENERGY POINT BEACH, LLC, TO DISCUSS THE 2015 END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 On May 25, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (CDT), a public outreach/open house was held by representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The purpose of the open house was to provide the public with information on the 2015 End-of-Cycle plant performance assessment of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant and with general information on the NRC. The outreach was held at the Lester Public Library in Two Rivers, WI. The NRC meeting notice for this open house can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML16112A400.

The NRC personnel provided discussions related to the NRCs assessment of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant performance, which was documented in the March 2, 2016, End-of-Cycle Assessment letter, ML16060A482. As part of the open house, both NRC and NextEra representatives were available to address questions and concerns. Slides used to describe the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process and Point Beach Nuclear Plant 2015 performance can be found in ADAMS under ML16154A677. In addition to the slides, members of the NRC made available a brochure on the Reactor Oversight Process, NUREG/Br-0508, ML16119A045, the August 2015 edition of the NRC Information Digest, NUREG-1350, Volume 26, ML15254A321 and a copy of Point Beach Supplemental Inspection reports 05000266/2015006 and 05000301/2015006, ML16060A482. During the open house, a member of the public, discussed with NRC personnel how Point Beach is responding to the order EA-12-049, Order Modifying Licenses with Regard to Requirements for Mitigation Strategies for Beyond-Design-Basis External Events.
