SUMMARY

OF THE MAY 25, 2011, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT END-OF-CYCLE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT FOR 2010 On May 25, 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Two Creeks Town Hall in Two Creeks, Wisconsin. The meeting was between NRC Region III management and NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC representatives to discuss the NRCs 2010 End-of-Cycle Assessment of the Point Beach Nuclear Plants safety performance. The results of that assessment were discussed in a letter to the licensee dated March 4, 2011, (ADAMS ML110620512).

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRC, the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), national ROP results, and the Action Matrix. This was followed by a summary of the NRCs assessment of Point Beach Nuclear Plant performance in 2010. The NRCs meeting presentation slides can be found in ADAMS at ML111390419. A list of principal meeting attendees can be found in the attached enclosure.

Following the NRCs presentation, Mr. Larry Meyer--the Point Beach site vice president--and members of his staff provided the licensees perspective on the assessment and discussed some of the completed and ongoing efforts at the plant to improve and enhance performance.

After the business portion of the meeting, NRC representatives spoke with an individual from local media and a member of the public.
