OF THE JULY 29, 2009, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PROGRESS ON ACTIONS TAKEN IN RESPONSE TO SUBSTANTIVE CROSS-CUTTING ISSUES AND TO DISCUSS THE RESULTS OF AN INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT OF CORRECTIVE ACTIONS FOR RECENT NUCLEAR SAFETY CULTURE SURVEYS On July 29, 2009, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting with the licensee at the NRCs Region III office at 2443 Warrenville Road, Lisle, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting was 1) to discuss the progress on actions taken in response to substantive cross-cutting issues in the human performance and problem identification and resolution areas, and 2) to discuss the results of an independent assessment of the effectiveness of the corrective actions for nuclear safety culture surveys conducted at Point Beach in 2004, 2006, and 2008.

The licensees meeting presentation slides can be found in ADAMS at ML092110784. These slides provide the details presented at the meeting by the licensee. A list of principal meeting attendees can be found in the attached Enclosure.

The NRC acknowledged the licensees presentation and closed the meeting with the statement that NRC inspection activities would be used to assess the sustainability of the licensees corrective actions.
