DISCUSSED DURING THE CONFERENCE CALL HELD BETWEEN U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC)

AND TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY (TVA) LICENSE RENEWAL STAFF MAY 11, 2005 RAI 2.3.3.21-4: The applicant will include the non-electrical part of the flow indicators as pressure retaining component with the intended function of pressure boundary. The applicant will confirm this in a supplemental information to be formally submitted. Therefore, the RAI is resolved.

RAI 2.3.3.28-1: The applicant explained that the drain pan does not perform a safety function, and it is an external drain pan used to collect any oil spillage during a filter replacement.

Hence, the item will not be considered to be included in scope. Therefore, the RAI is resolved.

RAI 2.3.4.4-1 and RAI 2.3.4.4-2: The applicant will re-evaluate the secondary containment integrity for all units as a result of follow-up to RAI 2.1-2A. This RAI will remain unresolved until submission of response to RAI 2.1-2A, sub-parts (1) and (2).

RAI 2.3.4.5-1: This RAI is related to a bold bordered item in Appendix F of the LRA concerning Unit 1 commitments. This will be covered in Section 2.6.1.1 of the SER, which will discuss Appendix F.1 of the LRA, main steam isolation valve (MSIV) leakage pathway modifications related to mechanical scoping. Therefore, the RAI is resolved.
