SUMMARY

OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCES ON APRIL 7, 2004, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY CONCERNING ACTIVITIES ON BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1, 2 AND 3, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NOS. MC1704, MC1705 AND MC1706)

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the applicant, held a telephone conference on April 7, 2004 to discuss the recently issued review schedule for the Browns Ferry Nuclear (BFN) license renewal application. In particular the participants discussed the request for additional information (RAI) process.

The conference call was useful in clarifying the staffs process. On the basis of the discussion, the applicant was able to better understand the staff's process. No staff decisions were made during the telephone conference. The applicant has had an opportunity to review and comment on this summary. Enclosure 1 provides a list of the telephone conference participants.
