ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. DPR-33, DPR-52, AND DPR-68 FOR BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1, 2, AND 3 (TAC NOS. MC1704, MC1705, AND MC1706)

Dear Mr. Singer:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-33, DPR-52, and DPR-68 for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Units 1, 2, and 3. NRC issued the renewed facility operating licenses based on the staffs review of your application dated December 31, 2003, as supplemented by letters submitted to NRC through April 21, 2006. The Technical Specifications for BFN were not amended as a result of our review.

The technical basis for issuing the renewed license is set forth in NUREG-1843, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN),

Units 1, 2, and 3, and Supplement 1, both published in April 2006. The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed license are contained in NUREG -

1437, Supplement 21, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Regarding Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Units 1, 2, and 3, published in June 2005. contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-33 and the attachments:

Appendices A and B, Technical Specifications. contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-52 and the attachments:

Appendices A and B, Technical Specifications. contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-68 and the attachments:

Appendices A and B, Technical Specifications.

Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-33 expires at midnight December 20, 2033.

Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-52 expires at midnight June 28, 2034.

Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-68 expires at midnight July 2, 2036.
