Gentlemen:

_ By letter dated July 17,1997, GGNS submitted an interim report docketing that License Condition

2.C(38), which govems the Control Room Envelope (CRE) in-leakage rate may have previously been violated <This potential license condition violation was believed to result from missing inner.

seals within electrical conduits that penetrate the CRE boundary. This interim report was submitted based on prudent and conse,vative interpretation of conduit seal field inspection data available at the time, for certain electrical conduits that penetrate the CRE boundary. ' -

Our interim response stated that conduit seal inspection activities were ongoing and were

- expected to be completed by August 29,1997. Upon completion of these inspection activities, we comniitted to supplement the interim report with a follow up report containing the latest information identified from the inspection activities. in accordance with the requirement of License Condition 2.F the follow up report, which is a final report concoming this issue is attached.

Revised text incorporated subsequent to submittal of the interim report is denoted by revision bars in the right-hand margin.

- We have completed inspection of 100% of the inner seals for electrical conduits that penetrate the CRE boundary. Areas where a seal was either missing or presence of a seal could not be - -

- confirmed due to obstructions were conservatively. sealed. As previously stated in our interim I report,'no current safety or habitability concems exist or are believed to have previously existed due to this condition, y wm mar S
