MONTHLY NARRATIVE REPORT ,

0F OPERATION -

AND MAJOR MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE This report describes the operating and majorinaintenance experienbe for the morith of November,1986. This narrative ' report was prepared by the plant staff and is submitted in accordance with Section 6.9.1.7 of the Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications.

On November 1, 1986 Unit.1 started the month shutdown in its first refueling outage. Unit 2 started the month at full powar.

3 On November 5,1986 Unit I entered Mode 5.

On November 7, 1986 Unif. 2 reduced power to 40% for demusseling.

On November 9, 1986 IiMit'2 returned to' full poder.

On November 19, 1986 Unit 2 reduced power to 50% to plug leaking  ;

condenser tubes.

On November 20, 1986 Unit 2 returned to full' power.

On November 25, 1986 Unit 2 reduced power to 50% to plug leaking -

condenser tubes and then returned to full power.

On November 30, 1986 Unit I ended the month shutdown for refueling.

Unit 2 ended the month at full power.

m Unit I was continuing its first refueling outage whicn started August 29.

The reactor was reassembled and normal wafer level restored. Condensate "

and feedwatep systems were realigned and flushed fullowing completion of feedwate'r heater replacement.

Unit 2 bperated this month with a unit availability factor of 100% and a unit capacity factor of 95.6%. Unit 2-reauced power three times this month, twice to investigate and repair m: sin condenser tube leaks and once for demusseling the seawater system. -

- No challenges to the steam generator safety valyes or pressurizer power operated relief valves have been made. Unit 1 had numerous safety related '

maintenance activities performed in support of the refueling outage, including:

o Steam generator feedwater sparger ."J" tube replacenient o Stead generator eddy current tube inspection ;,
