o MONTHLY NARRATIVE REPORT 0F OPERATION AND MAJOR MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE This report describes the operating and major maintenance experience for the month of July, 1985.

This narrative report was prepared by the plant staff and is submitted in accordance with Section 6.9.1.10 of the Unit 1 Plant Technical Specifications and Section 6.9.1.7 of the Unit 2 Plant Technical Specifications.

On July 1, 1985 Unit 1 experienced a containment ventilation isolation On July 2, 1985 Unit 2 experienced a containment ventilation isolation On July 8, 1985 Exceeded Technical Specification allowed time period for returning fire barrier to operability On July 19, 1985 Unit 2 experienced a safety injection On July 19, 1985 Unit 2 made initial entry to Mode 4 On July 25, 1985 Unit 2 made initial entry to Mode 3 On July 30/31, 1985 Unit I reduced power to 50% to plug leaking condensor tubes On July 31, 1985 Unit 2 experienced a containment ventilation isolation There were no major safety related maintenance activities performed for Unit 1 in the month of July 1985.

For Unit 2, Reactor Coolant Pumps 2-1 and 2-4 have been balanced and Reciprocating Charging Pump 2-3 is out of commission while awaiting parts.

No challenges to the PORVs or Steam Generator Safety Valves have been made.

No changes have been made in the Environmental Radiological Monitoring procedure, the Offsite Dose Calculation procedure, or in any radioactive waste treatment system.
