Unit 1 and Unit 2 started the month at 100% '

power.

.An Unusual Event was declared regarding

On October 6 1987 commencement of-a-Unit 1 shutdown required by

.entryintoTechnicalSpecification(T.S.)-

3.0.3 when 4. shutdown control rods 1nserted

.oneastep were not'. fully. withdrawn within one 4

hour as required by T.S. 3.1.3.5.'

The 4 w

control rods were withdrawn after-replacing

. blown fuses and T.S. 3.0.3 was' exited.

On October.10, 1987:

Unit 1 decreased power to 40% to clean condenser waterboxes.

4 0n.0ctober 11,.1987 Unit 1 returned to full power after cleaning condenser waterboxes.

There was no significant safety-related maintenance for Unit 1.

Significant safety-related maintenance for Unit 2 consisted of Linsta11ation of an alternate thermal relief valve on the Unit 2 boron injection tank. The existing leaking thermal relief valve (8852) as gagged.-
