Dear Mr. Reid:

By letter dated January 15,1998, the staff provided a Safety Evaluation (SE) regarding the relief requests submitted by letters dated December 19,1996, August 13,1997, and September 10, 1997 for the third 10-year interval for inservice testing of pumps and valves at Vermont Yankee

. Nuclear Power Station.

It has been brought to our attention that two errors were made in SE. Specifically, on page 7 of 1 the SE under "4.0 Relief Request RR-V14," line 3, the check valves' identifications should be  !

[V14] -23A and -23B, in lieu of [V14] -22C and -22D; also on the same page under "4.1 Licensee's Basis For The Relief Request," first line, the check valves' sizes should be 2-inch in l lieu of 1-inch. A corrected page is enclosed for your use.

We appreciate your staff bringing this to our attention. We request that you retain a copy of this f correction letter with the January 15,1998, letter and enclosed SE.
