Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station License No. DPR-28 (Docket No. 50-271)
Implementation of Severe Accident Manneement in Reference (a), Vermont Yankee informed the Staff of our intention to implement the formal industry position on severe accident management as recommended by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) Strategic Issues Advisory Committee. In Reference (b) we informed the NRC of our intention to implement severe accident management by December 31,1998.
During a recent discussion with the Staff, we were requested to docket a letter documenting completion of the above regulatory commitment. Accordingly, this letter informs the Staff that, as of December 31, 1998, Vermont Yankee has implemented severe accident management as committed to in Reference (b).
