Dear Mr. Reid:
By letter dated January 15,1998, the staff provided a Safety Evaluation (SE) regarding the relief requests submitted by letters dated December 19,1996, August 13,1997, and September 10, 1997 for the third 10-year interval for inservice testing of pumps and valves at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station.
It has been brought to our attention that two errors were made in SE. Specifically, on page 7 of 1
the SE under "4.0 Relief Request RR-V14," line 3, the check valves' identifications should be
[V14] -23A and -23B, in lieu of [V14] -22C and -22D; also on the same page under "4.1 Licensee's Basis For The Relief Request," first line, the check valves' sizes should be 2-inch in l
lieu of 1-inch. A corrected page is enclosed for your use.
We appreciate your staff bringing this to our attention. We request that you retain a copy of this f
correction letter with the January 15,1998, letter and enclosed SE.
