SUMMARY

MONTH: July,1998

' McGuire Unit I began the month of July in end-of-cycle 16 refueling outage. The refueling outage has spanned 33.79 days. The unit was placed on-line 07/01/98 at 2257 and held at 17% power until 07/02/98 at

, 0402. He turbine overspeed trip test was performed 07/02/98 at 0431. The unit was placed on-line l- 07/02/98 at 0526. During power escalation, the unit held at 23% power due feedwater containment isolation valves being inoperable. The unit held at 38% power from 07/04/98 at 0620 to 1146 due to auxiliary feedwater flow balance testing. The unit held at 47% power from 1553 to 07/05/98 at 1732 due to l feedwater pump "l A" concerns. On 07/06/98 at 0623 the unit held at 78% power until 1250 due to flux j mapping. The unit retumed to 100% full power on 07/12/98 at 1714 and operated at or near 100% full power the remainder of the month.
