The leakage is in an unisolatable section of line approximately four feet f rom the reactor vessel, and the pin hulus are approximate' 74 feet obove the top of: the rnactor core. See the attache.d sketch showing the piping configuration. .

The licensee pluns to ultrasculcally examine both loops of all of the core spresy piping in the c*rywell for other indications beginning Tuesday, March 11, 1980.

Unit 2 is in a refueling outage. and IL 1s not yet known how long this will

" extend the outogc.

Neither the licensee nur Region III are planning a news release at this time.

The State of Iowa is being notified.

The Resident Inspector was notified of this e.ve.nt at 4:30p.m. on March 8,1980.
