The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

TWO IMPROPER RELEASES OF LIQUID RADWASTE TO MISSISSIPPI RIVER #-b
- Mog, Dd.d-On January 19,,1977, inadvertent,misvalving caused about 240 gallons of liquid radwaste to bii discharged to the Mississippi River from the wrong radvaste sample tank. No release limits were exceeded. Another erroneous liquid radwaste release occurred on January ;!1 when 900 gallons of laundry waste were released at a flow Tate"a'f' actor of ten higher than the calculated flo'w r4te.

there is, a possibility of public interest due to the rapid succession of these events. The States of Illinois'and Iowa have been notified and will.be kept informed of the results of an inepection to,.begin by IE III on Jan'uary 26, 1977.
