INDICATIONS IN 4" RECIRCULATION PIPIN'J The licensee informed Region III that ultrasonic testing (UT) of the 4" type 304 stainless steel bypass lines around the primary recirculation pump discharge valves revealed an indication of a crack approximately 1" long. The indication was found on the unist.". ole portion of the j

The licensee,is currently reviewing corrective action.

The plant was shutdown on October 3 for a fuel maintenance outage and was originally scheduled to resume operation on October 28.
Some delay in startup is expected.
j Region III received notification of this occurrence by telephone from N. Kalivianakis, Plant Superintendent, at 12:00 noon on October 13, 1975.
