NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE MAY 1986 May 1 The Station was in Operational Mode 1 with reactor through power coastdown in effect prior to beginning a May 14 refueling outage. The Reactor Coolant System was at normal operating pressure and temperature.

May 15 A power reduction to 35 percent began at through 0700 hours0.0081 days <br />0.194 hours <br />0.00116 weeks <br />2.6635e-4 months <br /> on the 15th to increase steamline May 16 pressure to facilitate Main Steam Safety Valve Tes ting . The Station was taken off-line at 2312 hours0.0268 days <br />0.642 hours <br />0.00382 weeks <br />8.79716e-4 months <br /> on the 16th'in preparation for Reactor Shutdown for the Fifth Refueling.

May 17 The Station was in Operational Mode 2 with reactor through shutdown in progress. A high-source range May 18 trip occurred at 0030 hours3.472222e-4 days <br />0.00833 hours <br />4.960317e-5 weeks <br />1.1415e-5 months <br /> on the 17th. After the reactor trip, the Station entered Mode 3.

With cooldown in progress the Station entered Mode 4 at 1030 hours0.0119 days <br />0.286 hours <br />0.0017 weeks <br />3.91915e-4 months <br /> on the 17th. The Station entered Mode 5 at 1215 hours0.0141 days <br />0.338 hours <br />0.00201 weeks <br />4.623075e-4 months <br /> on the 18th.

4 May 19 The Station was in Operational Mode 5 in preparation through for refueling.

May 29 May 30 The Station entered Operational Mode 6 at 0555 through hours on the 30th with Reactor Coolant Pressure at May 31 atmospheric and temperature at 112* F.
