SUMMARY

The Unit began the report period operating at a nominal value of 100% output. At 1149Imurs on 11/20/98, a reduction in output to approximately 98.4% was completed to support planned turbine govemor valve testing. Upon completion of successful testing, the Unit was retumed to a nominal value of 100% output at 1800 hours0.0208 days
0.5 hours
0.00298 weeks
6.849e-4 months
on 11/20/98. The Unit operated at a nominal value of 100%

output for the remainder of the report period.

In addition to the above, the following event which also occurred during the report period is being reported as required by Technical Specification 3.1.3.2 Note (3). During the beginning of the report penod, the Automatic Rod Position Deviation Monitor, although still functional, was not considered operable per Technical Specifications. The limiting condition for operation as specifkd in the Technical Specifications was met because the deviations between the indicated rod positions were venfied to be within their 12 step limits by obtaining analog / digital rod positions at least once every 4 hours4.62963e-5 days
0.00111 hours
6.613757e-6 weeks
1.522e-6 months
. On 11/09/98 at 1204 hours0.0139 days
0.334 hours
0.00199 weeks
4.58122e-4 months
, the Automatic Rod Position Deviation Monitor was retumed to operable, status.

SUMMARY

The Unit began the report penod operating at a nominal value of 100% output. At 1338 hours0.0155 days
0.372 hours
0.00221 weeks
5.09109e-4 months
on

11/01/98, the Unit began a controlled shutdown when Cell #3 in Station Battery 2-1 was discovered to have a voltage reading below that required by Technical Specifications. The Unit was removed from j the electrical grid at 1807 hours0.0209 days
0.502 hours
0.00299 weeks
6.875635e-4 months
, Mode 2 was entered at 1826 hours0.0211 days
0.507 hours
0.00302 weeks
6.94793e-4 months
and Mode 3 was entered at

Following replacement of Cell #3 in Battery 2-1, the Unit began preparations i for startup on 11/03/98. Mode 2 was entered at 0320 hours0.0037 days
0.0889 hours
5.291005e-4 weeks
1.2176e-4 months
on 11/04/98, however, at 0436 hours0.00505 days
0.121 hours
7.208995e-4 weeks
1.65898e-4 months
, all control banks were fully inserted and the Unit was returned to Mode 3. This was done because the estimated critical position (ECP) was projected to be outside of administrative limits when compared to 2 the predicted entical rod height. The ECP was re-calculated and Mode 2 was re-entered at 1354 hours0.0157 days
0.376 hours
0.00224 weeks
5.15197e-4 months
on 11/04/98.
