Consul tants , a consvi tim. fis t, lccated in Fort Meyers, Flcride. DAREY stated he was employed as a balrecc of plant inspector (BDp) ario OC inspector at CPSES frcm December 1977 until October 1982.

a. DARBY stated h'e recalled inspecting the welds on the Unit II ondenser i alono with tue cther balance of plant inspectors (not further identified).

. DARBi stated he had been workir.g on 'the night shift, and he wrote a visual I

report rejecting the fabrication and f actory welds .on the condenser for undercut, slag, ani build-up. CARSY recalled that the welcers and fitters

.4 working on the concenser complained to him abcut the rejectior- of their welds. DARBY stated it took craft about 2 to 3 weeks to ccmplete repairs

on these welds, and that he subsequently reinspected the welds and

! accepted them on visual reports.

5. DARBY stated hc wrs never contacted by- Brown & Root suhervisors or anyone else cceplaining about his rejection of the welds. DARBY stated he had not been intimidated nor had anybody attenpted to intimidate him to acceot these welds., DARBY stated that to his knowledge, the other mecbers of the inspectien' crew were not intimidated nor'hae ar.ybocy attempted to inti-midate :nem. DARBY statec that following the repair of these welcs, he reinspected and Iccepted the welds on a visual report. ,
