Ha r ra t.t v e Report for LCR 50.-921/1970-076, Rev. 0 Plant managenent was contacted on A u r;u c t 31, 1070, (circal by the NSSS supplier in regards to possible cable separation i rre gu l a r i t. i c s within the  !!PCI systen. USSS nupplier's concern stenned from the discovery of such a problem at another BUR plant and thev (i.e. N SSS supplieri requested Hatch to revieu cable routing of the HPCI inboard ste m iaolation valve for similar probleen. On 0-2-70, at 1R00 hours, plant engineering personne) confirned the MSSS supplier's nuspicion of p o s s i. 510 cable seprartion irregularities within the HPCI  :.y s i c n tfter h a vi n r; investigated the probleu. The Unit 1 reactor was at a stcade state pouer of 189 2 Dlt at the tino of prob 2cn confinnation.

Imnediate corrective action included notification of the a rch i t ec t.-cn gi n e e r a b ou t. the cable separation probica. They were requested to provide a proposed clo s i g n ch a n t:0 r e q u e 'i t (PDCR) for proper cable separetion. Dcsign chance shouli include re-routin;, of control cable: for the inboard stean isolation valve for HPCI and RCIC system no that m i x in r; o

HPCI, PCIC, and ADC cables vill be corrected. Cause of this deviction is attributed to design error. Redundant ny s t t r.a were operab3c and caprble of p e r f o r:li n g their intended functions.

Supplenental action shall incl u de review of the proposed design ch a n r;c request upon receipt and iuplenent.ation thereof as a formal design c h a n c.e . Follouinc, receipt of the engineering package and its implementation, an update to the LER uill be issued.

At the time of the occurrence, Unit ? uan at a stendv state power of 2390 MWt. Cable routing was reviewed and discrepancies uere also found with HPCI inboa"J steLM isolation valvo control cable separation in that it also mixcd with RCIC and ADS cables. A nroposed design chrnge request is being be issued by the architect-engineer and upon receipt, will reviewed and inplemented as necessary to provide proper cable separation betueen electrical divisions /systens.
