In its August 4, 1980 Memorandum, the Board stated that it " wishes to be apprised by the Applicants and NRC Staff, at their earliest convenience, of their plans (if any) for analy::ing and evaluating the safety significan:2 of [the earthquake which occurred on July 27, 1980, centered in northern Kentucky (apparently near Maysville)]."

Section 2.5.1 of the Final Safety Analysis Report

("FSAR") describes the basic geologic and seismic informa-tion utili::ed in selecting the safe shutdown earthquake and operattag basis earthquake for the facilit.y. In particular, Sections 2.5.2.5.4, 2.5.2.6.4 and 2.5.2.9 of the FSAR con-sider previous seismic activity near Maysville and its po-tential effect on the Station.
