'RQfEResponsetoSAXPReportNo.50-2li/85-99PageATTACHMENTAATTACHMENTAt&oesoooc8Webelievetheissueof"informalversusformal""attitudetobeoneof<<controlofactivities."ItisnecessarytoreviewsomeoftheformalprogramsalreadyinplaceorinprogresswhicharedesignedtoimproveouZ"controlofactivities."Therearetwomodesthatnaturallyapplywhencontrollingactivities.Areactivemode,logicallyenteredforeventssuchasplanttripsoremergencymaintenance,andapro-activemodeforpre-planningofactivities.Addressingthereactivemode,thereareseveralformalprocesses.alreadyinplace,"inwhichtheplantstaffisquiteproficient,whichdemonstratecontrolofactivities.Theseprocessesinclude:oPostTripReview(A-25.4)oEmergencyMaintenanceProceduresoCorrectiveActionSystemoMorningPriorityActionRequired(MOPAR)oEmergencyOperatingProcedures(EOPs)Recoveryfromplanttripsisaccomplishedbytheplantstaffsafelyandeffectivelyinaformalfashion.EmergencyMaintenanceisplannedinawellthoughtoutmannerandisformallyapprovedbythePlantOperationsReviewCommittee(PORC).Ourcontrolofoperationaeventshasimproved.TheupgradedEOP'scoupledwiththenewlyinstalledsimulatorhasstrengthenedourresponsetooff-normalev'ents.However,wehaveidentifiedadditionalareastobeevaluatedwhichcouldimproveour"controlofactivities."Theseare:oRootCauseIdentificationoTroubleshooting1~Theplantstaffwillreviewtheseareasandwillimplementthoseaspectswhichcanimproveourcontrolofactivities.Inthepro-activemode,thefollowingprograms/processesareinplacetocontrolactivities.oPORCoQA/QCSub-CommitteeoALARACommitteeo.MOPAR'
