We have been, notified by the U.S. Department of Energy that Federal funding for conversion to low enriched uranium will not be available during'_ either Fiscal Year 1990 or.1991. A copy of . Mr.

Richard E. Stephens' letter dated February 6, 1990 is attached.

It is our understanding that'this letter fulfills the require-ments of _10 CFR 50.64 until March 27,.1991. We shall inform you if further information' regarding the availability of funding should become available in the meantime.
