SAR Revision No. 23, Docket 50-20
Dear Mr. Miller:
Massachusetts' Institute of Technology submits herewith Revision No. 23 to the
" Safety Analysis Report for the MIT Research Reactor (MITR-II)", Report No. MITNE-115 (October 22, 1970), as amended. The purpose of the revision is to update the SAR with regard to new containment penetrations for instrument lines.
During overhaul of the containment b Jding air conditioning system the controls were changed from electrical to pneumatic.
This required three additional penetrat-ions for 1/4" 0.D. instrument air lines. The revision was reported to USNRC, Region.#1, as a 10CFR50.59(a)(1) change in the "MIT Research Reactor Annual Report to USNRC for the period 7/1/79-6/30/80".
Please replace SAR pages 16.17a and 16.17b with the new pages enclosed.
Changes are indicated by lines in the margin.
