Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk r7 c3 _2o Washington, D.C. 20555 Gentlemen:  ;

On June 26,1996, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology informed the U.S. Nuclear i Regulatory Commission in writing that one of its licensed senior n: actor operators had been I indicted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on various felony charges. These charges were unrelated to the employee's duties at MIT, and none of the alleged allegations occurred at MIT. In that letter, and in a subsequent one dated September 6,1996 MIT agreed to keep NRC informed of significant developments in the matter. Accordingly, NRC is hereby notified that a trial date has  ;

been set for April 27,1998. The trial itselfis expected to last several week. Our policy toward the 4 employee will continue to be as outlined in our letter of September 6,1996.

Sincerely,  !
