BRANCH Marshall E. Miller, Esq. Dr. Kenneth A. McCollom Chairman, Atomic Safety and Dean, Division of Engineering, Licensing Board Architecture and Technology I

U.S. Nuclear Regulatorv Oklahoma State University Commission Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074 Washington, D.C. 20555 Dr. Richard Cole Member, Atomic Safety and Licensing Board U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Re: Texas Utilities Generating Company, et al.

(Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2), Docket Nos. 50-445 and 50-446 Gentlemen
,

Further to .ny- letter to the Board dated September 10, 1982, this will advise that the Public Utilities Commission of Texas has approved the reorganization of the Texas Utilities Company System. Under the reorganization, Dallas

< Power & Light Company, Texas Electric Service Company, and Texas Power & Light Company will be divisions of Texas Utilities Electric Company. The Public Utilities Commission found the reorganization to be in the public interest. The action by the Commission is a major step in the implementation of plans for the reorganization, which is expected to be in place on about January 1, 1984.

While this matter does not relate to any issue in con-troversy in this proceeding, nevertheless we thought the Board might be interested in knowing of this action by the Public Utilities Commission.

Sincerely, ,

/
