79-3 (4) The reactor was not shut down.
79-4 (B) A calculation of the unidentified primary coolant leak rate indicated a 1.95 GPM leak. Reactor power was reduced so that station personnel could enter the containment to evaluate and identify the cause of the leakage. Inspection team found PCV-1455B, a pressurizer spray valve packing gland to be blowing excessively. The valve was backseated and deenergized. The unidentified leak rate was recalculated and recorded as 0.57 GPM which is within the allowable < 1 GPM in accordance with plant technical specifications. When unit was at reduced load, the turbine valve f reedom test was performed.

Paget of 1 UNIT SilUTDOWN AND POWER REDUCTIONS EXPLANATION SIIEET DOCKET No. 50-338 REPORT MONTl! MARCII UNIT NAME NORTil ANNA YEAR _1979 DATE 4-2-79 COMPLETED BY ANDY NEUFER 79-3 (B) llydraulic fluid, used to control the main turbine govenor throttle, reheat and intercept valve began to leak from a joint in the pump discharge header. The unit was shutdown for reweld-ing of the leaking joint. At this time pipe hangers and shock mounts were added to prevent vibration due to pump oscillation (by design) total down time was 11.3 hours3.472222e-5 days
8.333333e-4 hours
4.960317e-6 weeks
1.1415e-6 months
.

79-4 (4) The reactor was not shut down.

79-5 (A)(1) Manual reactor turbine generator trip due to rapid pres-surizer level and pressure drop when the unit was ramped down due to loss of cooling water from "A" reactor coolant pump.

The solenoid on 1-TV-CC-102E burned causing the valve to fail closed. The coil was replacedand the valve was returned to service after testing.

NOTE: Shutdown 79-5 continued through end of March due to failure of turbine reheat stop valve No. 1 left. The valve could not be cycled.
