In respense to your letters to H. G. Parris dated November 4, 1980, and December 9,1980, enclosed are the following documents related to the TVA program en hydrogen effects and control in the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SNP) unit 1 containment.

Enclosure 1: Quarterly Report on SNP Research Program en Hydrogen Combustion and Control Enclosure 2: A revised volume 2 of the Sequoyah Core Degradation Program Report Pursuant to paragraph 2.B.(22)D.(3) of the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Unit 1 Operating License DPR-77, TVA submits the first quarterly report concerning the hydrogen effects and control research program (Enclosure 1). The quarterly report provides additional material in response to your letter of November 4, 1980. Also provided by Enclosure 1, section B, is TVA's response to item 1, a temperature profile for equipment survivability, as requested by'your letter to H. G. Parris dated December 9, 1980. The other four items will be addressed .n our scheduled meetings with your staff en December 15 and 18, 1980, and aill be submitted by December 16, 1980. The requested technical specifications and procedures for your review will be submitted by December 18, 1980. q f'9 s '
