CONTAINING URANIUM-236 INTO THE UNIT 2 CORE

1998 The purpose of this submittal is to provide a clarification of the topical report associated with the insertion of a limited number of LTAs beginning with the Unit 2 operating Cycle 10 core.

The topical report was previously submitted for y>tu: review on August 7, 1998.

As discussed in a telephone conversation with the staff on October 26, 1998, the topical report provides the analysis to support the placement of four LTAs in the Unit 2 operating

Cycle 10 core.

These four LTAs will remain in the core for a

,/)

period up to three operating cycles, and based on the approved analysis provided in the topical report, no other LTA's of this type will be placed in the core.

The use of k}v;>gg) additional assemblies will be supported by a separate submittal to NRC.
