ANTINUCLEAR DEMONSTRATIONS SCHEDULED FOR WEEKEND OF APRIL 30, 1977 h4

United States. Most such acccunts have focused upon statenents by the " Clamshell Alliance" concerning their plans to field up to 10,000 demonstrators at the Seabrook site, even though no significant con-struction has been undertaken at that site. Other press accounts have reported that various local groups are planning to count "non-violent" demonstrations at facilities in their areas, especially, { the West Coast, New England, and Great Lakes areas. Information thus far received by the NRC supports the press accounts. There is no evidence to date that any group plans either a takeover I or violent confrontation at any facility containing licensed nuclear I material. All Regional Offices lave been provided any pertinent infor=ation possessed by the NRC. Facilities named in the accounts are aware of the passibility of demonstrations at their sites. No further action is planned. This PN is being issued to alert the Co= mission to the possibility of publicity and media interest connected with these planned demonstrations. . *
