U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555

Dear Ms. Adesam:

In the Matter of ) Docket Nos. 50 -328 Tennessee Valley Authority )

. Technical Specification (T/S) 4.4.9.1'.2 for unit 2 of our Sequoyah Nuclear Plant requires the reactor vessel material irradiation surveillance

.epecimen to be removed and examined at intervals required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix H in accordance with the schedule specified _by Table 4.4-5 of the unit 2 T/S. Enclosed is the final summary mport (WCAP-10509, " Analysis of Capsule T from Tennessee Valley Authority, Sequoyah Unit 2 Reactor Vessel Radiation Surveillance Program,") as mquired by 10 CFR 50, Appendix H, for the reactor vessel surveillance capsule T.

-We do not believe any change in the capsule withdrawal schedule in the technical specification, Table 4.4-5, is required at this time because the

_ schedule recommended in the technical report provides for capsule U to be removed at three effective full power years (EFPY) which is identical to

'that in our technical specification. - Also, based on the msults of the analysis of the surveillance capsule T, no changes in tae technical specification pressure temperature limit curves, figures 3.4-2 and 3.4-3 of the unit 2 T/S are required at this time because the curves in the summary are identical to the technical specification curves. The curves in the technical report mpresent an operational time period of 9 EFPY. Capsule U will be withdrawn at approximately 3 EFPY, and we will reassess the need for technical specification revisions when the results from the analysis of capsule U are available.
