Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Welds with Partial Examinations
Dear Mr. Denton:
As requested by Mr. Martin Hum of the NRC, South Carolina Electric and Gas '
Company hereby provides a listing of the currently identified welds in which partial examinations were conducted to obtain a complete volumetric examination on each weld.
This list is for informational purposes only. Approximately ninety (90) percent of the examination reports were reviewed in the compilation of this list.
While this represents the majority of reports, there exists the possibility that the list could increase. As noted in the list no B-J, C-F or C-G welds requiring relief requests have been identified so far. However, some welds requiring relief requests could be discovered in the remaining unreviewed reports.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Very truly yours, T. C. Nichols, Jr.

The following is a listing of welds where examinations are limited by welded supports, branch connections, physical access, cenfiguration, etc. Where possibic, all welds were examined from both sides. In all cases, 100%.of the volume of the welds was examined from one or more directions in accordance.with ASME Code,Section XI. Welds are listed as to the isometric with limitations noted. Where a supplemental examination is used it is also noted.
