DRUG RELATED ACTIONS BY THE LICENSEE - UPDATE .

On November 18, 1987 the FBI arrested six individuals who were accused of drug distribution at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station and in the surrounding York County area. On January 15, 1988, the U.S. District Court for the Pennsylvania Middle District in Harrisburg found two of these defendants quilty and two not guilty.

Previously, the two other defe.idants (one PECo and one contractor) had pleaded guility to conspiracy and possession charges. On. March 11, 1988, three of the individuals received prison sentences and action is pending on the sixth person.

PECo reviewed the information from the trial. Based on this review 16 people were implicated. PECo has terminated four of these employees and intends to terminate seven other employees for involvement with drugs. Five of the 16 employees are being tested for drug use. None of these employees are licenseJ operators. In addition to the PECo employees, two contractor employees have been dismissed.

The licensee issued a press release. The State of Maryland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have been informed.
