BOMB THREAT ,

-A telephone bomb threat was received by-the licensee at 1:21.p.m. on August 25, 1989. .

Tha call was' received at the badging office and the. caller stated " Maintenance, there Lis a' bomb in the Administration Building," and then hung up. The Security Supervisor was.. .

' ' briefed and a licensee' determination made that the threat was non-credible. ~At-1:41 p.m.

a second call was received on the same phone line and the caller stated "You had better gat over to the Admin Building before it goes off," and hung up. During this call:a lot of plant. background nois'e was heard. . The Supervisor of: Security had~ the badging office phone number electronically transferred to his phone. At 2:16 p.m.'the Security:

' Supervisor. took a third call from an'individuo who stated "You only have a-half hour left"'and hung up.

The Security Supervisor;had the security force search vital areas, and non-uniformed

-security personnel search the-Admi.iistration Building. Nothing was.found and the licensee considered;the threat to be a hoax.

' Region.I. resident and regional staff reviewed the~ licensee's response actions, and Ldiscussed

' were' appropriate the matter with for. the the licensee. The staff: concluded that the licensee's actions =

' circumstances.

The NRC's Information Assessment Team was informed and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will be informed.

4 The licensee informed the Headquarters Operations Officer of the incident at 2:51 p.m.
