Subject:

FBI DRUG ARRESTS On May 11, 1988 the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) made additional arrests of licensee employees resulting from the FBI's ongoing investigation into illegal drug activities in the vicinity of Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station.

The FBI arrested three currently employed Peach Bottom technical employees alleging that they were involved in illegal drug activities prior to 1987.

Also, the U.S. District Court indicted a fourth Peach Bottom employee who previously had been suspended by the licensee with intent to dismiss for drug-related activities.

This was a followup to an earlier case in which several individuals were arrested on November 18, 1987, convicted and sentenced on March 11, 1988 (PNO-I-87-108). The employees were not licensed or non-licensed operators.

The licensee issued a press release. The State of Maryland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have been informed.
