SHUTDOWN IN RESPONSE TO NRC ORDER (UPDATE)
At 11:30 a.m. on March 31, 1987, the NRC issued an order suspending power operation effective immediately. Unit 3 began a controlled shutdown from 100% reactor power at about 11:40 a.m.
At 10:35 p.m., the licensee placed shutdown cooling in service and at aidnight Unit 3 achieved a cold condition (<212 F).
Unit 2 is currently in a scheduled refueling outage; core offload is in progress and is about 2/3 complete.
