REACTOR SCRAM FROM 100*; POWER DUE TO LOSS OF FEEDWATER At 9:21 a.m., 10/17/85, the unit automatically tripped on low level (0 inches) due to the loss of all three turbine-driven main feed pumps. The lowest indicated reactor vessel level achieved was -95 inches (-178 inches is top of active fuel - TAF). An ENS notification and Unusual Event were declared.
Plant systems responded normally recovering level and controlling primary systems isolation.
At approximately 9:26 a.m., reactor vessel level was recovered to +30 inches by HPCI and RCIC injection, and primary pressure was being controlled by steaming to the main condenser.
The Unusual Event was terr;inated at 10:12 a.m.
The senior resident was in the control room during the event and will continue to follow licensee actions.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been notified.
