DOCKET NO: 50-270 UNIT: Oconee 2 DATE: 8/15/86 NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
Month: July 1986 The unit began the month at 100% power. On July 08, the unit tripped when a flow instrument malfunctioned and caused an increase of Feedwater flow to the Steam Generators. This caused level in both Steam Generators to increase to the trip setpoint. The unit returned to service on July 09, but was forced to hold power while a High Pressure Injection pump was being tested. The unit was back at 100% on July 10. On July 22, the unit reduced power to work on a Heater Drain pump. The unit tripped on July 23 when a flow instrument on the Reactor Coolant system malfunctioned which initiated a re-ratio of Feedwater to the Steam Generators. Level in Steam Generator "B" reached its high level and the unit tripped. The unit returned to service the same day and was at 100% on July 24, where it remained for the balance of the month.
