DOCKET NO: 50-270 UNIT: Oconee 2 DATE: 7/15/86 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

i Month: June 1986 The unit began the month at 100% power, but on June 2nd a shutdown was initiated because the Boron concentration in the "B" Core Flood Tank was below Technical Specification. The unit had dropped to 75% before the concentration of Boron in the tank was back in spec. The unit returned to 100% and operated at that level until June 24 when a fuse in the Control Rod System failed and indicated the loss of the Group 2 rods. An automatic runback brought power to 58%. The fuse was replaced and the unit returned to 100% that day, where it remained for the balance of the month.
