Director Division of Compliance - Region I United States Atomic Energy Commission 970 Broad Street Newark, New Jersey 07102
Dear Mr. Kirkman:
Your letter of December 5,1969 with attached AEC Form 592 addressed to Mr.
G. H. Ritter has been forwarded me for review and reply.
Item 5. a.
In a meeting with Messrs. Carlson, Dodd and Caphton on November 10, 1969, coRB audits of Oyster Creek operations was discussed.
It was agreed to by JCP&L Company that the GORB vould conduct its audits of station operations on a quarterly basis within reasonable periods between audits. By this, I mean that one audit at the beginning of one quarter and the next audit at the end of the next quarter would not be considered as reasonable quarterly audits.
Item 5. b.
The breaching of the reactor building containment integrity by misuse of the interlock doors during reactor operation has been reviewed thoroughly with station personnel. The electrical' interlocks have been repaired and new signs have been installed on the doors, which remind the person passing through that the doors must be verified closed before opening either one, so that one door is always closed. Application of the signs has also been reviewed with station personnel.
j Item 5. c.
