The inspection in June S was made to verify the substantive information contained'in Amendment j-No. 53 Preliminary findings from th!3 latter inspection were for-4i varded to DRL in our memoranda dated June 25, d6, and 30,1959 d N Following the decision to require the licensee to conduct additional ~ -Q ;i ap nondestructive examinations of ATAPCO, piping within the ciryuell, to f. require review of records of important components and to complete additional nonGentructive testing on certain valves within the pri-i mary coolant boundary, Dr. Mann was assigned the responsibility for determining satisfactory resolution of outstanding issues. In Mfj this regard, Co.mpliance assisted Dr..Mann in inspections to the Oyster c Py: Crook cite on July 17-18, 1959, end to GE-San Jose and X-Ray Engineerin5;-- ils i San Mateo on July 17-19 and July 28-29, 1959 The findings from these jt W) inspections are sumarized in Dr. Mann's memorandus dated August 1,-1969 \\ It is interesting to note that the~ plumbness of the recirculation Pimp motor, units was not measured during the preoperational primary system expansion test.
