In the Matter of ) Docket No. 50-327 50-328 Tennessee Valley Authority )

Operating license condition 2.C.(22).D.2 for unit 1 of our Sequoyah Nuclear Plant requires TVA to perform additional testing on the Tayco igniter to demonstrate "that the igniters will initiate combustion in a spray environment such as that expected in the upper compartment of the ice condenser containment." Enclosed is a copy of the test plans that TVA intends to utilize to perform the additional testing to satisfy condition 2.C(22).D.2.

Please provide any relative cormnents as soon as possible but no later than September 9,1983 Because the test *acility preparation is presently underway, and if no comments are received by that date, we will proceed with the assumption that the NRC has no consnents. An advance copy of the test plans have already been provided to Carl Stahle of your staff.
