Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-313 License No. DPR-51 NUREG 0630 - Request for Implementation Schedule Gentlemen:
By letter dated July 13, 1982, (1CAN078202) from Mr. T. M. Novak to Mr. W. Cavanaugh, III, AP&L was requested to provide a schedule for
- 1) supplying supplemental ECCS calculations, and 2) developing permanent modifications to the ECCS evaluation models. The calculations and modifications would address the impact of the cladding models presented by the staff in NUREG-0630.
AP&L previously indicated by letter dated August 13, 1982, (1CAN088205) that the results of the calculations would be provided by February 15, 1983.
Concerning your request for a schedule regarding permanent modifications to the ECCS models, we cannot set a firm date at this time for the following reason. The results of the calculations being performed (to be submitted by February 15) may indicate that any resultant penalties can be accommodated by AP&L, and therefore the ECCS models may not need to be modified. If the calculations indicate that the penalties are substantial, we will inform you of our plans to make the necessary modifications at that time.
