Dear Mr. Murley:

Establishment of the National Examination Schedule for Nuclear Power Plant Operator License and Requalification Examinations afforded Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit I with February and August examination dates. Our normal two year training cycle was previously scheduled to end in May. - Moving the exam dates to February has been a problem due to the proximity of refueling outages and holiday vacation schedules.

In accordance with NUREG 1021, Revision 6, ES601, Item .C.I.A.2, Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit One hereby requests the one-time revision to the training cycle schedule to allow testing in August, rather than February, of 1991.

This will extend our current two year schedule to end in August 1991'rather than May 1991. The normal two year cycle will, at that time, be altered to end in August of each even numbered year. This matter has been discussed with the NRC Region IV Chief Examiner. ,
