In reference (e), it was forecasted that the qualification of the heaters and connector asse=blies to the requirements of IEEE Std 323-197h, "IEEE Standard for Qualifying Class 1E Equipment for Nuclear Fover Generating Stations,"

and IEEE Std 3hh-1975, "IEEE Recce= ended Practices for Seis=ic Qualification of Class lE Equipment for Nuclear Pcver Generating Stations" would be cc=pleted in the first quarter of 19o1. It is now forecasted that the qualification program vill be ecmpleted in the third quarter of 1981. The scope of the qualificatien program has been increased and the design and manufacture of the connector asse=bly tock longer than anticipated as detailed below:

a. The environmental qualification procedure and test equipment has been modified to include a new design basis condition, which is uncovering of pressuri::er heaters as a result of the postulated taximum overcooling event.
b. The qualification procedure has been refined and test equipment has been modified to allov more accurat.e si=ulation of postulated high te=perature conditions which occur during r.ain steam line breaks.

The first-of-a-kind connector assembly design vent through several iterations and a prototype was not available for supporting completion of a first quarter test progra..

Bechtel is responsible fer precuring and installing the remainder of the affected the third equipment and is now forecasting completion of this installation by quarter of 1982.

Another report, either interic or final, vill be provided by October 30, 1981.
